45 Pound Wahoo!!

Alan Churchill is one of our precious repeat charters.  In these tough times every person we can show a good time to is someone that may return in the future to fish again.  I figure with every repeat customer, that’s someone that I don’t have to give the sales pitch to, I don’t have to teach how to wind the reel, and I don’t have to explain the ins and outs of the boat, weather, fish, or tackle.  They already know Capt. Steve and me, so it’s just easier all the way around to treat the customer like they are friends going out fishing!

Anyway, Alan was rewarded today with another big Wahoo and several other nice fish like the little Carribean Reef Shark we released.  The big “Hoo” was caught trolling in 270 feet of water right off the main ship channel of Key West.  The wreck that we have been pulling all the Sharks and big Snappers off of is called the “Curb” and lies in 187 feet of water.  She was sunk in 1985, on purpose, as an artificial reef.  She is an ex-Coast Guard Buoy Tender about 200 feet long.  Lots of life this time of year!
